Life is a pendulum that swings back and forth, from pleasure to pain, from darkness to light, and we choose which one we want to experience at any given time. Your consciousness determines your reality. Sometimes, being aware and conscious can be painful when we are avoiding certain realities. However, pushing away feelings will only come back stronger if we don't find a way to confront and accept them. If we grasp at only what we think makes us happy, or have aversion and denial to our struggles, we end up in a state of anxiety or even physical illness. All the people around you and the events of your life are here for your enlightenment. If you see everything as having a higher order, you become more loving to yourself and others.
