A great question was asked on today’s show about dreams: “Is there a way to interpret the dreams on my own?”
Here are 13 steps you can take to begin to do just that:
- What are the main points of the dream?
- What details seem significant? Why?
- What is the one sentence title of this dream?
- What is the one word title of this dream?
- What happens in the beginning?
- What actions are being taken?
- Who is in the dream?
- If people in the dream were parts of yourself, what would they be telling you?
- What is the overall tone of the dream?
- How does this dream compare to your life right now?
- What is the dream telling you about your life that you might be over looking?
- What is the outcome of this dream?
- If you were to live the dream in real life, what would you do differently?
I will also be going more in-depth about this type of dream interpretation in my upcoming Neuro-Linguistic Programming course. Stay tuned for announcements about the dates for this exciting course!

Thanks for this Derek, I have a repeating dream from my childhood which I had so many times I still remember it , About falling through the sky and as I am falling I keep pulling my face off to reveal another face and another face, men , women young mostly old and so it kept going and it never ended. I assume that becasue I still clearly remember it now, I have not gotten the message so I hope this will be the tool to use to interpet this dream at last! thanks so so much for this and the upcoming course!

Thanks Derek! Will go through this process with my dreams, especially about the recurring elevator ones… Loving the new radio show, and the new website, would definitely like to hear more about dream interpretations. Great, great work, thank you so much. Love Love Love.

Thanks again, Derek. I have used this for a couple of dreams now, with pretty profound results. So powerful indeed, yet so simple. I’m now wondering how I could have not noticed these things in my life! I also used the glass of water technique, for helping to remember my dreams, worked a treat. Very happy! Love Love Love, Lynsey

Thanks for the 13 steps. Here is a recent dream:
I’m laying in bed in a hotel that has a huge picture window beside the bed so I can look out on the ocean below. In bed with me is my mother (deceased). Out the window I see the Silver Seas cruise ship moored in the harbor. Beside the cruise ship I see a whale breech. Then another and another until I see 5 whales frolicking in the ocean. Three of the whales are young or babies. I am thrilled by this sight and point them out to my mother. The next thing I know I am in a small skiff in the ocean being taken away from the whales and I am shouting that I must go back to be with the whales that we can’t leave them there. My mother is not in the skiff and the skiff is being driven by an unknown man. That is the end of the dream, but the next day I am hosting our speaker at the Spiritual Awareness Center. On a seat in the rear of the church I find a plastic blue whale – a child’s toy. I pick it up and all of a sudden I think of my dream. I decide to take the whale up to the podium with me to relate my dream and then the finding of the blue plastic whale. The speaker is taken with the whale as well. Her talk is on finding our soul lessons. At some point the whale falls off the podium and breaks open and the skeleton of the whale falls out!

Derek, Thank you so much for the 13 steps. I love love love the radio show. I often dream about getting drunk and partying although I have been without alcohol or drugs for over 14 years in waking life. I say to myself in the dream, it’s ok to have a few drinks and have fun, then just don’t have anymore for a few more weeks and it will be fine. Then I get drunk in the dream. Will use the steps to figure it out next time I have that type of dream.
